BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occ. (PNA) — Mayor Monico Puentevella said he wants the city to organize a jobs fair every four months. This, after the successful jobs fair organized last Saturday by the city’s Public Employment Services Office (PESO) at Bacolod’s Government Center. Over 5,000 applicants showed up and 60 companies, hiring for both local and overseas employment, accepted job applications at the PESO’s “Jobs for Bacolod-Trabaho Patrol” held in partnership with ABS-CBN, Department of Labor and Employment, Philippine Overseas Employment Administration and local internet service provider Lasaltech. PESO OIC Anjo Ayco said, “Our target was 5,000 jobseekers and we exceeded that mark,” adding that of total applicants, 300 were immediately hired.
