  September 21, 2013: Bataan Sets Massive Housing, Jobs

BALANGAY CITY, Bataan - In response to the call of various job seekers and property-less working families in the province, Governor Abet S. Garcia revealed yesterday that an unprecedented emergence in call centers and massive housing projects as is at hand through multiple public-private partnerships.
Speaking about the recent Executive-Legislative Agenda (ELA) Formulation held in Bulwagan ng Bayan II, here, Garcia said that the provincial government has been in talks with business process outsourcing (BPO) companies to build call centers in the province which will provide startup jobs for the thousands of students graduating yearly from various universities in Bataan.
Garcia said he is tapping private investors to renovate the old Capitol building located in this city and in return, build call canters in the compound under a lease agreement.
"When we find the right investor, they will reconstruct the Capitol building, and more jobs will be created because they will also build call centers in the compound, creating a competitive atmosphere,"he said.
The governor also disclosed that a massive hosing and mix-used development residences will be constructed in the industrial towns of Limay and Mariveles, where various multi-million companies operate like the Petron Refinery and those in the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB).
In response to the shortage of housing in the industrial town of Mariveles, private investor Marinette P. Paras, president and CEO of the Camaya Hills, has been rushing the 6.5 hectares of low-cost quality housing in the area which is accessible in FAB and in the town itself as it is just less than one kilometer away from the town hall.
Impressed by its unique location atop of a hill and pollution free, various executives and personnel of the Luen Thai Phil. and some personnel and top company officials inside the Bataan Freeport had already made reservation and wanted to avail of the Camaya housing program.
A meeting between Garcia and Paras are set to thresh out how the homeless workers and OFWs could avail of the quality but affordable housing project.
For his part, Mariveles Jesse I. Concepcion said: "We are very supportive to the housing projects of Ms. Paras since she preferred to put up in our town which is in dire need of mass housing due to increasing number of workers inside FAB."
"There are low cost and executive types of houses where the recipients can choose from it," said Paras.
"The Camaya Hills housing features a full range of affordable home models and amenities specially designed for family fun and activities - a multipurpose hall, ball courts, swimming pool, landscaped parks and a future site for commercial area," she added.
