September 2, 2013: Dagupan Cathedral Opens Jobs Fair
Dagupan City, Pangasinan — The Archdiocese of Lingayen (Pangasinan) is sponsoring a jobs fair today on the grounds of the St. John the Evangelist Cathedral compound in this city.
Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Socrates Villegas said the event gathers 50 companies under one roof to process employment applications for the jobless and underemployed.
“This is in line with the Caritas “I Care” program, which aims to manifest Caritas Lingayen-Dagupan’s love and concern for the unemployed sector,” said Villegas.
It was organized in coordination with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-Regional Office 1, DOLE-Dagupan Field Office, and the Provincial Employment Services Office.
“We are happy with the support of Archbishop Villegas and the whole Caritas Lingayen-Dagupan for the fulfillment of the decent work agenda of the present administration,” said DOLE-1 Regional Director Grace Ursua.
Residents here will benefit especially those calamity-stricken areas in Pangasinan, which was most ravaged by tropical storm “Maring” and monsoon rains last month.
