July 31, 2013: MB Levels Up 6th Job Fair Promotion

Manila, Philippines --- Manila Bulletin (MB) is taking to the next level the promotion of its upcoming three-part 6th Classifieds Job Fair, which starts at the SM North EDSA Skydome from August 13 to 14.
No longer limited to traditional print advertisements, and television and radio commercials, MB literally brings the good news of providing employment opportunities to jobseekers —whether they are waiting on train stations, studying, or even lounging online — as it utilizes the power and wider reach of the Internet, electronic media, and transit promotion.
MB Classified Advertising Vice President Lyne Abanilla said that while the company, tagged as the “Exponent of Philippine Progress Since 1900,” has unlimited advertisements on print, it also ventures into different platforms, such as electronic billboard, transit and mural advertisements to offer the career opportunities to jobseekers.
“We even have walking billboards before the event proper,” Abanilla said.
Posters and flyers are also strategically posted on different locations, including universities, public utility vehicles, and mass rail transit stations nationwide to catch the attention of the public.
Carrying the theme, “Your First Day of Work Starts with Us,” the job fair will hold its second leg at SM Cebu on September 24-25, and the third and last leg at SM Sta. Rosa in Laguna on October 15-16.
More than 5,000 jobseekers are expected to troop to the events.
“With the addition of event promotions that we are doing, I’m sure it will generate a lot of responses,” she said.
This promotion is due to the vast job opportunities offered by over 50 employers from local to international companies who will participate in the three-part grand job fair.
Abanilla said that unlike other job fairs, which offer mostly business process outsourcing (BPO) or call centers career opportunities, jobseekers can choose from a “diverse lineup of clients.”
Among the companies that have inked major sponsorship in the job fair are IBM, one of the information technology companies, and Sykes, one of the leading business process outsourcing firms in the country.
Other participants are major life insurance products provider AXA Philippines; BPO companies Transcom, Startek, Inc., and 24/7, Inc.; and financial institution JP Morgan Chase & Co.
