General Santos City (PNA) — The Region-12 office of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE-12) will launch six major job fairs in the region in connection with the celebration of Labor Day on May 1.
DOLE-12 Director Ofelia Domingo said five simultaneous job fairs are slated on May 1 in this city, Cotabato City, Kidapawan City in North Cotabato, and Tacurong City in Sultan Kudarat.
A pre-Labor Day jobs fair will be held on Friday, April 26, in nearby Koronadal City, she said.
“A total of 10,596 local and overseas job opportunities will be available for our job seekers in these job fairs,” Domingo said in a statement.
She said such vacancies were based on the reports submitted to the DOLE-12 by local companies as well as local and overseas job placement or recruitment agencies that signified to join the scheduled job fairs.
As of their latest count, the official said around 200 companies and job placement agencies based in the region and other major cities in the country will participate in the activity.
