Some 1,500 out-of-work technical-vocational graduates in Metro Manila have found jobs, thanks to the six job fairs organized by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) two weeks ago.
With some 10,500 other tech-voc graduates lined up for job interviews, Tesda Director General Joel Villanueva announced Tesda would extend the jobs bridging program nationwide to help their graduates find work.
Villanueva admitted it was not enough to graduate and certify tech-voc specialists, saying Tesda also has to exert efforts to connect their graduates to the right job here or abroad.
“We will tap our offices in the provinces to organize similar jobs fairs for Tesda specialists. The goal is to fill the void from graduation to employment so as not to waste time and opportunity,” he said.
