December 14, 2011: 3,500 hired in job fair

Close to 3,500 job seekers were hired on the spot during the recent fourth Mega Job Fair held at the M. Eusebio Quadrangle in Pasig City.
According to the local city government of Pasig, more than 8,600 jobseekers took advantage of the chance to apply directly with more than 90 companies and local and overseas manpower agencies such as SM Hypermart, First Macro Bank, Guess USA, Rusty Lopez, Robinsons Galleria, Bench, Ace Hardware, Goldilocks and Rustan’s Supercenter.
It added that a total of 3,414 applicants were hired on the spot during the one-day job fair.
According to Pasig City Mayor Robert “Bobby” Eusebio, the job fair provides companies and jobseekers the opportunity to shorten the selection and hiring process, saving them time and money.
He said the job fair also protects jobseekers by inviting only reputable and accredited companies and manpower agencies.
“The job fair is a regular activity of the city government’s employment program to provide good and stable jobs. The job fair goes hand-in-hand with our various programs that enhance the work skills and competence of Pasiguenos,” Eusebio said.
