Cebu — The Cebu provincial government said it will provide over 1,000 slots for its summer job program to students who want to earn during the summer vacation.
Cebu Capitol will shoulder 60 percent of the salary of those who will be employed under the summer job program while the Department of Labor and Employment will take the remaining 40 percent.
According to Public Employment and Services Office (PESO) Manager Dr. Mathea Baguia, the students will be working for 30 days in their respective municipalities and will just report to the PESO manager of their municipality, who in turn will give them their specific tasks.
“The beneficiaries are entitled to receive minimum wage in their locality as well as overtime pay and incentives during the duration of the program,” Baguia said.
Baguia had asked the help of the Department of Education to disseminate information about the provincial government’s summer jobs program for students among school administrators under its command.
