The Philippine government has raised the number of displaced workers from areas devastated by super-typhoon “Yolanda,” who are eligible for hiring by the end of the year for its emergency employment program to 20,000, the International Labor Organization (ILO) said. In a statement, ILO Regional director for the Asia and the Pacific Yoshiteru Uramoto said this comes after the government was able to get more funding for the program. This includes the P9.148 million donations from the ILO and the P7 million the government was able to collect from the private sector.
