LAPU LAPU CITY, Cebu (PIA) – The Technical Education Skills and Development Authority (TESDA-7) and the Department of Labor and Employment in Central Visayas (DOLE-CEbu) will undertake a project with TESDA-7 training 480 beneficiaries from Bantayan Island, Pilar, San Remegio and Daanbantayan, all badly hit by typhoon Yolanda in northern Cebu in such skills as carpentry, masonry, electrical, and plumbing to repair and rehabilitate typhoon-damaged structures. While training, beneficiaries from the mainland will be paid by DOLE-Cebu P307 and those on the island, P282 daily for 15 days, along with social welfare benefits good for three months although work will only be good for some two weeks.
