  November 27, 2013: Employment Opportunity

Davao City – The Region-11 office of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE-11), through a directive, will prioritize the survivors who have migrated to the region after super typhoon “Yolanda” hit their areas in Eastern Visayas.
DOLE-11 Director Joffrey Suyao said that in this city, they have hired at least 10 individuals coming from Tacloban through the local Public Employment Service Office (PESO).
In this city alone, it was learned that some 119 families with 372 dependents coming from Eastern Visayas have already migrated.
“In Tagum, we also received reports that some ‘Yolanda’ survivors availed employments from the local government unit. We are not yet definite as to how many of them got hired,” Suyao explained.
“We will provide the opportunity for them to land a job here, and this also serves as our help for the ‘Yolanda’ survivors,” he said.
Meanwhile, Suyao also disclosed that DOLE will be conducting a jobs fair in celebration of the agency’s 80th anniversary on December 4 at the Abreeza Mall here.
