October 15, 2013: Manila Bulletin Bringing Jobs to SM Sta. Rosa; 30 Firms Joining

Hundreds of jobseekers are expected to “put their best foot forward” in vying for vacancies in over 30 companies, many of which are hiring on-the-spot today and tomorrow, in the Manila Bulletin’s 6th Job Fair at SM Sta. Rosa in Laguna.
“Your First Day of Work Starts with Us,” the event theme, entices applicants for positions in retail, recruitment, manufacturing, and telecommunications, and in the BPO (business process outsourcing or call centers) and in IT (information technology).
To open the job fair are Sta. Rosa Mayor Arlene Arcillas-Nazareno and officials of the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), to be joined by MB Classified Advertising Vice President Lyne Abanilla, AVP for Classified Ads Geronimo Montalban, and heads of the classified department branches.
It is the final leg of the three-part job fair that the Manila Bulletin launched this year. The other career expos were held at SM North EDSA and at SM Cebu.
The Laguna job fair will feature short talks by various career and personality development experts to bring out the best in applicants.
A booth for the publication’s online job site, www.mbclassifiedjobs.com, will also accommodate applicants who want to create their accounts online for the reference of potential employers.
“We are as excited today as we were during the first two legs and we want jobseekers to join us in this enthusiasm,” said Abanilla, citing the success of the previous Manila Bulletin job fairs.
“As we start the last leg of this year’s career expo, we look forward to more job fairs next year,” she added.
Abanilla expressed confidence that the next career expo series will also be a success and gave thanks to the support of the participating companies and advertisers as well as partner-government agencies and the private sector.
She said the job fair series is a collective effort of MB’s classified, marketing, branding, circulation, and editorial departments.
“The country’s leading newspaper has decided to bring its annual job fair outside Metro Manila to reach out to and respond to the needs of more jobseekers in the country,” Abanilla said.
