September 9, 2013: More firms hiring in Q3 – JobStreet

Most employers are still expanding and hiring more people this third quarter of 2013, a survey by online recruitment firm JobStreet.com revealed.
The survey also showed that although competition is stiff among candidates in different industries, the promise of employment is still high.
JobStreet.com said in a statement that since January of this year, company expansions have paved the way for recruitment by creating more jobs for our candidates.
For Q3, it said, 62.7 percent of responding companies say that they will hire more people to fill new job postings – that’s a 6.7 point increase from 56 percent expanding companies last quarter. Most of the companies that are expanding come from the trade and retail industry (30.8 percent, followed by manufacturing (19.2 % ), and IT (15.4 %).
Junior level candidates also have higher chances of getting hired in Q3. The company survey showed that 60.8 percent of companies say that they mostly need junior level employes or those with 1-4 years of experience, followed by supervisors and fresh graduates (both at 13.7 percent).
Just like in Q1 and Q2, sales executives are still the most in demand specialization in Q3.
