August 4, 2013: MB Job Fair Draws Huge Support

Manila, Philippines --- Various industries have shown tremendous support to the upcoming Manila Bulletin Classifieds Job Fair slated this Aug. 13 - 14 at the SM North EDSA Skydome.
MB Classifieds Advertising Vice President Lyne Abanilla expressed her gratitude to the unexpected support from the exhibitors participating in this year’s job fair.
“There’s really an overwhelming response from our partners this year,” Abanilla said, adding that this early success is a product of joint efforts coming from the newspaper’s management, advertising, branding, marketing and circulation departments.
With the theme, “Your First Day of Work Starts with Us,” the 6th Classifieds Job Fair is unique on its own as this is the first time the nation’s leading newspaper has produced the entire event. A diversified line up of industries is also joining the nation’s leading newspaper in helping Filipinos find the right career for them. Aside from BPO, companies from overseas recruitment, medical, real estate, automotive and banking industries are taking part in the event that will be replicated in SM Cebu on Sept. 24 to 25, and in SM Sta. Rosa, Laguna on Oct. 15 to 16, respectively.
Abanilla said the job fair is also the newspaper’s way of sharing its strength with friends and partners who’ve maintained good relationship with them. “I would like to personally thank our platinum sponsors IBM, Sykes, Convergys and AFNI as well as our other sponsors for making this possible,” she said.
She said with Manila Bulletin continuously “capturing 85 percent of the market share,” the event is proof of how “we are able to maintain our status.”
According to Abanilla, they are now focused on further promoting the Job Fair in almost every way possible. They have tapped various platforms other than broadcast, print, and the Internet, venturing into electronic billboards, transit ads and positioning posters in strategic locations such as schools, transport terminals including mass rail transit stations, and public utility vehicles.
