TACLOBAN CITY, Leyte (PNA) — The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) here has assisted 449 job seekers to get hired-on-the–spot (HOTS) this first semester of the year. DOLE has conducted 13 job fairs in partnership with local government and private sectors in provinces in Eastern Visayas. Nine job fairs were held in North Leyte, two in West Leyte and one each in Samar and Eastern Samar. The highest number of HOTS was in North Leyte with 325; West Leyte, 107; six in Samar and 11 in Eastern Samar. DOLE statistician Shirley Ann B. Nebrija said that 3, 611 job applicants were registered during the various job fairs.
