June 12, 2013: 65,000 Jobs Up For Grabs

At least 65,000 job vacancies are up for grabs today at the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) annual Independence Day job fair at the Rizal Park, Manila.
DOLE-National Capital Region (DoLE-NCR) director Alan Macaraya said more jobseekers are expected with this year’s fair providing more job opportunities than last year’s 43,000.
“We expect a lot of job seekers to flock our venue and we really hope that we will serve as a vessel in enabling them to have freedom from poverty, underemployment and unemployment through job facilitation,” Macaraya said.
Eighty-five local employers and 25 overseas recruitment agencies are participating in the event.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), the Philippine National Police (PNP), and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) are also accepting applicants at the Luneta fair.
Participating industries with the available jobs vacancies include cyber services, hotel and restaurant/tourism, health and wellness, wholesale and retail trade, construction, automotive, banking, insurance, logistics, finance, and real estate.
“We advise job applicants to bring their resumè/biodata, copy of diploma, copy of transcript of records, clearances such as police/NBI clearance, employment certificates if any, ID pictures, and other pertinent documents for easy facilitation of their applications,” Macaraya said.
But he said a one-stop shop for processing pre-employment documentation will also be available in the venue to assist the applicants.
