Manila (PNA) – At least 1,132, or 32 percent of 3,475 jobseekers who registered in the pre-labor day job fair in Camp Servillano Aquino, Tarlac City were hired-on-the-spot (HOTS). The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said 2,186 applicants were listed for further interviews. Labor Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz expected the number of HOTS applicants to still increase since there were 74 other job fairs held across the country on Labor Day. “There are 75 job fairs ongoing nationwide. Forty-three are being held in malls. The job fair in Tarlac City, which was visited by President Benigno Aquino III after his scheduled dialogue with DOLE leaders, offered a total of 21,085 job vacancies from 151 employers.
