March 24, 2013: Job Site To Introduce ‘Text-To-Apply’ Service To LGUs
CEBU CITY, Cebu - A Cebu-based online job matching portal is set to partner with local government units (LGUs) in Cebu to create an online profile for their municipality that will bridge the gap between job seekers and employers in their area.
iTrabaho.com Managing Director John Kim said the company is now talking with the Lapu-Lapu City government for the latter to list and make available online all its qualified manpower supply listed in the Public Employment Service Office (PESO).
“We would like to create an online profile out of their (LGU-PESO) data,” said Kim who added that this concept gives LGUs a more effective platform for providing jobs to their residents or constituents, as job search or application will only be made online or via text messaging.
He said that iTrabaho.com is veering away from the complexity of applying via traditional online job sites, giving job applicants convenience by linking to its site via SMS, making it the first job site to offer “Text-to-Apply” services.
