Over 4,000 job hopefuls, especially those who are chasing their dream careers, are expected to flock to the two-day 5th Manila Bulletin Classifieds Job Fair at the Glorietta Activity Center in Makati City, which starts today.
Jobseekers will get to choose from over 50 companies, hailing from a wide array of the country’s vital industries, such as business process outsourcing (BPO), manufacturing, and hospitality and health, while the participating firms will showcase their respective corporate portfolios.
“It still boils down to the basic issue of finding gainful employment that will basically help you survive… While the country has shown some growth for this year, still, statistics show that each year, there is still a lot of people who are trying to navigate [among] the jobs,” Manila Bulletin Corporate Communications Head Raul Rodriguez said.
Rodriguez said that four of the experts from the fields of human resources management and organizational development will deliver their respective talks, which are suited to jobseekers.
“These people are actually paid for in [other] seminars, but in our job fair, we hope that people can take advantage of this, because they’re all doing these for free. It’s really to prepare the person from the interview process, up to how he can cope up, and how to be better in a particular job,” Rodriguez said.
Tower Watson Growth Leader and Licensed EQ trainer Ging Igual, who will give her talk on “Gearing Up For the World of Work” at 1 p.m. today, has worked for companies across various industries, and has pursued passion on EQ and employee management, as critical success factors.
