  March 1, 2013: Jobs Awaiting Graduates, Says DOLE

MANILA, Philippines --- Job openings, mostly in the construction and sales industry, in the labor market here and abroad await newly graduates this March, the Department of Labor and Employment bared yesterday.
Labor Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz said the hiring of sales professionals is the most in demand among the local companies while overseas labor market are in need of construction workers as showed by job vacancies announced in newspapers and online job boards.
Other available jobs in the country are mostly for accounting officers, masons, call center agents, quality assurance/control engineers, cashiers, engineers, office staffs, human resource personnel, drivers, marketing officers, receptionists, waiters/waitresses, telemarketers, project managers, estimators, architect, recruitment specialists and administrative officers.
The jobs sought abroad are electrical technicians, carpenters, pipe fitters, scaffolders, steel fixers, masons, welders, quality control inspectors, light duty drivers, riggers,waiters, service crews, aluminum technicians, foremen, plumbers, design engineers, machine operators, iron workers, welders, janitors/janitress, mechanical design engineers, baristas, baker, and room attendants.
The job opportunities in the domestic market registered at 38 percent, or 1,277 vacancies; while overseas demand registered at 62 percent, or 2,070 vacancies.
In this regard, Baldoz said that the government is intensifying its efforts to make both supply and demand meet.
