Tourism Secretary Ramon Jimenez Jr. is confident the successful implementation of the National Tourism Development Plan (NTDP) and growth in tourism-related investments and visitor arrivals will create seven million new jobs by 2016. Last year, the Department of Tourism (DoT) unveiled the P265-billion NTDP aimed to achieve 10 million international tourists’ arrivals a year by the end of the Aquino administration. The NTDP envisions a huge chunk of investments in hotels, restaurants, leisure and entertainment facilities, shopping, health and wellness, convention, cruise and transport facilities will come from the private sector under the public-private partnership programs.
