Jobseekers will have a better chance of landing a job this year by simply visiting the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) job fairs.
Labor and Employment Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz announced that the DOLE-NCR is initially holding 106 job fairs, particularly in Metro Manila, from mega job fairs, city and municipal fairs, in-house job fairs, mini-job fairs, and barangay job fairs at accessible venues such as city and municipal halls, Public Employment Service Offices, schools, sports gyms, and malls.
Baldoz said of the 106 job fairs, only 12 are for overseas, proving that "there are plenty of available jobs locally and that job seekers only need to qualify to avail themselves of these employment opportunities."
She said DOLE also plans to hold job fairs in the regions.
"One of the advantages of visiting a DOLE job fair is that a job seeker spends less money and less time and minimal effort to find a job because DOLE gathers as many employers as possible --whether local or overseas--under one roof,” Baldoz said.
“The DOLE also ensures that its government partners bring in to the job fair their services, such as the birth certificate issuance services of the National Statistics Office; the clearance certificate issuance services of the National Bureau of Investigation and the Philippine National Police; the social security benefits programs of the Social Security System; and the passport issuance services of the Department of Foreign Affairs," she said
