  December 26, 2012: Workers’ Support

TAGUM CITY ((PIA) – Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) in the city that will provide P660,000 worth of livelihood projects to three labor unions in Compostela Valley affected by the wrath of typhoon “Pablo.”
“The amount is DOLE’s support to workers who are part of the three unions, which are accredited partners as seed capital for their livelihood projects,” Baldoz said.
The amount is still part of the 2012 budget, she said, “pero asahan n’yong patuloy kaming makikipag-ugnayan sa ating mga recipients (but rest assured that we will continue to coordinate with the recipients) when there is a new budget for 2013.”
Baldoz enumerated the support that the DOLE can continuously provide to the labor unions affected by the calamity including livelihood projects, training and capability building.
