  December 9, 2011: US BPO expands in Iloilo

Iloilo City, Iloilo – An American business process outsourcing (BPO) company is sent to invest an additional P50 million for the expansion of its operations in Iloilo City.
“We are set to create 2,000 new jobs by next year,” said Callbox chief executive officer Rom Agustin.
Callbox, one of the original BPO companies to have opened in Iloilo City, will acquire more facilities as well additional manpower to strengthen its growing worldwide operations.
“The expansion will secure a dynamic future for the company, bolster our commitment to deliver quality services, and provide a terrific boost to the local economy by creating more full-time jobs for Ilonggos,” Agustin said.
The P50 million expansion is also seen to affirm Iloilo City as a top BPO destination.
“The low-cost of doing business in Iloilo City and the availability of a large talent pool possessing strong English language skills make the city a top destination for business outsourcing,” he underlined.
Callbox will hire additional customer service representatives (CSRs), search engine optimization (SEO) specialists, web developers, web designers, and graphic designers.
Iloilo City has been names one of the Top 10 BPO hubs in Asia-Pacific by global network firm KPGM was well as one of the Top Ten Next Wave Cities for outsourcing by the business Process Association of the Philippines (BPAP).
Aside from the Philippines and the United States, Callbox also operates and runs offices in Australia, Malaysia, Singapore and the United Kingdom.
